Who we are
Chronicles of Sage Orange is made by Human Commons. For anything in this notice — questions, unsubscribing, or asking us to delete something — write to buildwith@bayesianleaf.co. A person reads that inbox.
What we collect, and why
If you leave your email address on sageorange.fm to hear about the launch, it is delivered to us by Formspree, a form service, and we keep it to send occasional launch and product updates. Nothing else is attached to it. To unsubscribe, reply to any email from us or write to the address above, and you are removed.
When you listen, the app keeps a scrambled, non-reversible version of your network address for up to 35 days. This exists for one reason: to stop any one person from using up the day’s stories for everyone. We never store the address itself, and we cannot turn the scrambled version back into it. The stories you generate are not saved to your identity unless you have signed in.
If you sign in
Signing in is optional, and everything except the ability to pick up where you left off works without it.
What Google tells us is your email address and your basic profile. We ask for nothing else. We do not see your Google password, and we cannot act on your Google account.
Your profile photo is loaded from Google, not stored by us. Google can therefore see that your browser asked for it, though we tell your browser not to pass on which page you are reading. Signing out ends those requests.
What we keep is a record of which stories you have heard and which parts of the world you have encountered, so the Chronicles can remember you between visits and not repeat itself. We also record when you acknowledged the notice about AI, and any change to the content setting.
You can delete your account, and it means what it says. Deleting removes your sign-in, everything we know about what you have heard, and every record tied to it. It happens immediately, it is not recoverable, and there is nothing left afterwards that points back to you. We do not keep a copy.
We do not sell anything about you, and we do not use what you listened to for advertising.
Services we rely on
The product runs on infrastructure from Vercel (hosting) and Supabase (database), and stories are generated and voiced using Anthropic and ElevenLabs. Formspree handles the email form. Each processes only what is needed to do its job.
Deletion, and changes to this notice
To have your email address removed entirely, write to the address above. The scrambled network data deletes itself automatically within the retention period above. If this notice changes in a way that matters, the date at the top will change with it.
